Who runs MediaNET

MediaNET is the SummitLife Media Team's own site, for the team's work across SummitLife's English, Polish, German and Arabic communities. It is developed and maintained by Josh, the Media Team's Creative Director. It is a community site, not a company service.

Logging in

You log in with Discord. MediaNET receives your Discord ID, username, avatar, server nickname and your roles in the SummitLife Media Discord. It never sees your Discord password or email address. Applicants can log in from outside the server, only to apply.

For security MediaNET keeps a log for 90 days of logins, logouts and blocked or refused requests, with the browser and system used (for example "Chrome on Windows") and a scrambled tag of the internet address, never the address itself. It is used to spot stolen accounts and break-in attempts.

MediaNET uses only the cookies it needs: one to keep you logged in, one to remember your timezone, and one for short on-screen messages. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Applying to the Media Team

Your answers, your links and samples and your Discord account are seen only by the Media Team leads, and are kept as part of your application, including if you are not accepted.

We ask your age so the leads know who they are working with. We do not ask for your real name or date of birth.

Members

For members, MediaNET keeps your place on the team: your role, team and community, which tools you have access to (Buffer, Claude, ElevenLabs), the work you request or are given on the work board, time off, and applications.

Leads see what they need for their teams; Senior Management see the whole team.

When someone leaves the team, their records are kept but separated from their member number.

The SummitLife Media Discord

MediaNET's bot runs parts of the media Discord: the verify, notification and platform role buttons, support tickets, work requests and reminders.

When a ticket is closed, the ticket and a transcript of its messages are posted in the ticket log for the team.

For moderation it keeps a log of the server: joins and leaves, role and nickname changes, moderation cases, and a copy of messages that are edited or deleted. Message copies are deleted after 14 days; moderation cases are kept. It removes invite links to other servers, spam and mass mentions automatically.

Its safety limits read the server's audit log (deleted channels and roles, bans, roles given out, bots and webhooks added) to stop anyone damaging the server, and record what they did.

Messages from MediaNET

MediaNET tells you about things that concern you on MediaNET and by Discord DM. On Notifications you choose which kinds of DM you get, or have them sent together once a day. Discipline and access messages always come through. The bot can only DM you while you are in the media Discord.

Read notifications are deleted after 60 days, unread ones after 180.

On your own device

While you type in a longer form, MediaNET keeps a draft in your own browser so a refresh doesn't lose it. The draft stays on your device, is not sent to MediaNET until you send the form, and is deleted after you send it or after 7 days. Use "Discard" to remove it sooner, and avoid drafts on a shared computer.

Asking about your data

To see what MediaNET holds about you, or to ask for something to be corrected or removed, open a ticket in the media Discord or use Support on MediaNET if you are a member. Some records (discipline, moderation) are kept after you leave where the team needs them to run fairly.

Terms of use

Using MediaNET

MediaNET is for running the SummitLife Media Team: its work, content calendar, assets, the team and the media Discord. Use it for that, honestly and in good faith.

SummitLife's server rules and Discord's terms apply here too. The Media Team Agreement and the brand guidelines decide how the team works; MediaNET just helps.

Your account

Your access comes from your Discord account and your roles in the media Discord. Keep your Discord account secure and don't let anyone else use it. Don't try to see or change things your access doesn't allow, even if a link or a mistake would let you; tell a lead instead.

What you put in

Keep requests, applications and messages truthful and to the point. What you upload must be your own work or SummitLife's, and unreleased content and announcements stay private until SummitLife publishes them.

Impersonating someone, or using MediaNET to harass anyone, can lead to removal from the team, and may be passed to SummitLife staff.

Leads and moderation

Everything the leads and moderators do on MediaNET is recorded, with who did it. MediaNET's safety limits can pause someone's moderation or remove roles automatically if they appear to be misused, and every one is reviewed.

Availability and changes

MediaNET is run by volunteers and may be down for maintenance or change without notice. These terms and this privacy page may change; the date at the top shows the latest version.

If anything here is unclear, open a ticket or ask the Media Leadership Team.
